AGE-MEDU at the Future Health Conference 2025 in Porto

AGE-MEDU participated in the Future Health Conference, held at the Faculty of Pharmacy of Universidade do Porto, organised by Porto4Ageing. Project coordinator Leo Perčin (ŽENA) contributed to the round table “The future of health and care education.” His intervention outlined how AGE-MEDU is aligning geriatric and gerontology education with current needs through research-based curricula and a VR-supported training platform for nursing students and educators.

AGE-MEDU develops an innovative programme in geriatrics and gerontology for higher education in Croatia, the Netherlands, Portugal, and Greece. Key activities include identifying gaps in current curricula, creating digital teaching materials, integrating a VR training platform, and offering online capacity-building for educators.

Across the full program, the conference addressed education and co-creation in health, new trends in health technologies such as AI, virtual reality, eHealth and telemedicine, and approaches to open innovation. Sessions included presentations, round tables, workshops, and matchmaking activities for innovators.

A useful exchange that supports our next project steps.
