About AGE-MEDU
About the project
The AGE-MEDU project aims to improve the quality of higher education in the EU by developing an innovative educational programme in geriatrics and gerontology for nursing students in Croatia, the Netherlands, Portugal and Greece. The main activities include investigating gaps in nursing curricula, creating teaching materials, integrating a VR platform for practical training and offering online workshops to improve educators’ digital skills.
With the EU population aged 65 and over expected to reach 28.5% by 2050, AGE-MEDU responds to the critical need for specialised nursing training. By modernising curricula and incorporating digital tools, the project seeks to attract younger students and prepare a skilled workforce to respond to future healthcare needs.
